EASTON, Pa. – Bucknell got the better of Lafayette volleyball on Saturday evening (25-14, 25-17, 25-17) to secure its ninth conference win of the season.
Lafayette led 1-0 after a Bison attack error, but the visitors quickly took an 8-4 lead. Both teams split the next four points, but then Bucknell got rolling. A five-point spurt gave Bucknell a 15-6 lead and Cameron Lloyd recorded three kills during the run. Lloyd and Bri Frazilus combined for 10 kills in the first set, guiding the Bison to a first set victory (25-14). Â
The second period was neck and neck for the first 14 points prior to the Bison finding their rhythm. Another five-point run that featured two kills by Sidney Shaffer gave Bucknell a 12-7 advantage. Kills by freshman
Paige Chmura and Patmon kept Lafayette within striking distance, but the Bison continued to stampede. Shaffer secured the second set (25-17) for Bucknell on an assist by Caleigh O'Connell.
The Leopards created a healthy 11-4 lead to get things going in the final period, after Patmon recorded three-consecutive service aces. The Round Rock, Texas natives four aces, tied her single-game career high. The Bison responded with a 9-1 run that put them back in the driver seat (13-12). The visitors stayed hot down the stretch, taking the final set 25-17.

Emily Gouldrup did great work on defense for Lafayette, tallying a team-high 18 digs.
Lafayette returns to Kirby Sports Center at 4 p.m. on Sunday as it invites archrival Lehigh to Easton.
