DuBois Slotted PL Defensive Player of the Week

Senior CB led the team with five pass breakups in a Patriot League road win

EASTON, Pa. – Senior cornerback Gabe DuBois helped guide Lafayette to a 28-23 win over Fordham on Saturday in the conference opener, earning Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors in the process.

The Cincinnati native finished with nine tackles, but it was his late-game heroics that made him stand out. DuBois registered three pass breakups on Fordham's final offensive drive to keep the Rams out of the endzone and preserve the Leopard win. In all, he had five pass breakups for the game and ranks 13th in the nation and first in the conference in passes defended (pass breakups and interceptions).  DuBois also helped limit the nation's 12th-leading rusher (at the time) to 40 yards below his per-game average. It is the first defensive player of the week award for DuBois who is a Psychology major.

The Leopards, who are receiving votes in both top 25 polls after being ranked for the first four weeks of the season, host Georgetown on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. It is Community Day at Fisher Stadium, where the Inaugural Food Truck Festival will take place at the game.
