EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette field hockey shut out Delaware 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Rappolt Field.
Senior midfielder
Lineke Spaans scored the game-winner at 8:50 in the first quarter. Her goal halted Delaware's six-game series win streak, dating back to the 2004 season.
The Leopards held the advantage in total shots (11-10) while the Blue Hens earned more penalty corners (7-3).
Lafayette's junior goalkeeper
Raffi Fragomeni came up big in the cage, making five saves on 10 shots faced for her first shutout of the year. Her Blue Hen counterpart, Cecile van Eijck, also made five saves.
The Maroon and White's last shutout came against Towson, 4-0, on Oct. 20, 2023.
The Leopards travel to Dartmouth on Friday for a 3 p.m. contest.
