STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Lafayette fell to No. 19 Penn State on the road, 5-1, in non-league field hockey action on Sunday afternoon at the Char Morett-Curtiss Field.
While the Maroon and White outshot the Nittany Lions 6-4 (3-2 on goal) in the first half, Penn State held a 2-0 advantage at the break. Morgan McMenamin (23:24) and Sophia Gladieux (29:21) were credited with the second-period tallies.
The hosts added their third goal to stay out of reach at 30:52 during a penalty corner by Natalie Freeman. Gladieux notched her second of the day (50:39) before Julienne Bekkum secured the 5-1 final. Sophomore forward

Lafayette held the advantage in total shots (16-10) and penalty corners (9-4).

The Leopards return to conference play on Friday, traveling to Bucknell at 6 p.m..
