BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lafayette concluded the Lehigh Invitational on Sunday, shooting a 21-over-par 597 to earn a tie for second in the 12-team field. The Leopards landed three strokes out of first and finished ahead of both Lehigh teams. Four of the Maroon and White's eight golfers collected top-15 finishes at the event.
Sophomore
Travis Robertson paved the way for Lafayette, rising seven spots to end in seventh. Robertson turned in consecutive rounds of 74 to shoot four-over-par at the par-72, 7,051 yard Saucon Valley Country Club Grace Course.
Freshman
Liam Brandt shot a five-over-par 149 to jump six spots, resting in eighth behind Robertson.
Viktor Kofod-Olsen and
Winston Kelenc-Blank followed behind in a tie for 14th. Kofod-Olsen collected four birdies in his second set of 18, carding a 75 for the round and 151 overall. Kelenc-Blank shot seven-over-par for the event after ending in a tie for second on Saturday.
Harry Dessel's 154 (76-78) placed the senior t-28.
Three Leopards competed as individuals in the two-day invitational.
Reed Theiss claimed the biggest improvement from round one to round two, shooting up 12 spots with a round of 79. Theiss shot 19-over-par (163) for 49th.
Hudson Pace (165) and
Valdemar Kofod-Olsen (174) finished in 55th and 64th, respectively.
Evansville claimed the team title, shooting 594 (290-304) to beat out Lafayette and FDU. FDU's Pietro Maria Piccoli earned medalist honors, shooting rounds of 70 and 72 in the 66-player field.
Lafayette's final outing of the Fall comes at the Fripp Island Invitational, hosted by South Carolina Upstate, on Nov. 1-Nov. 3.
