Freeman Named to FCS Oversight Committee

Leopard AD will represent Patriot League on national group

EASTON, Pa. -- Lafayette Director of Athletics Sherryta Freeman has been named to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Oversight Committee, effective Sept. 30.
 
Freeman will serve a four-year term on the FCS Oversight committee, expiring August 2029. The committee consists of 18 members from across the country, including one representative from each FCS conference. The NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision Oversight Committee maintains oversight of championship subdivision football, to include overseeing playing rules, enhancing development of the sport, and addressing strategic initiatives and topics in FCS football. The committee also supervises selection procedures for the FCS Championship, reviews recommendations from the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee, and processes other issues related to the administration of the Division I FCS Championship.
 
Freeman is in her eighth year at Lafayette, taking over the role in February of 2018. She currently also serves as a vice president of the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA), her third year in a vice presidential role and is a member of the NACDA Executive Committee.
