BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lafayette competed in the annual Lafayette-Lehigh Dual Meet at Lehigh's Jacobs Pool on Friday night. The Leopards fell to the Mountain Hawks 210-89 (women) and 211-89 (men).
Diving for the women, junior Mia Guster enjoyed the victory in the 1-meter dive with a final score of 244.73. Guster also secured second in the 3-meter dive, scoring 259.43. Senior Katie Hensell achieved second and third in the 1-meter and 3-meter (235.95, 233.48). Sophomore Amelia Mee scored 233.25 for third place.
Senior Isabella Van Ess snagged second-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke and 400-yard IM (1:04.88, 4:28.72). Freshman Francesca DiGiovanni earned second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:09.12. DiGiovanni finished third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.21). Classmate Kayley Hudson garnered third in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:12.86) and senior Ella DeSalvo secured third in the 100 breast (1:08.67).
Freshman Mya Uku and sophomore Meghan Robinson reeled in a pair of third-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (57.80) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:23.55). Junior Abigail Bebel placed third in both the 200-yard butterfly and 400 IM (2:07.45, 4:36.07). Junior Natalie Johnson took home third in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly with times of 24.25 and 57.39.
Diving for the men, junior Landon Orth claimed victories in the 1- and 3-meter dives with scores of 303.83 and 296.25. Classmate Trey Telleen enjoyed second and third place in the 1-meter (259.35) and 3-meter (243.98). Senior Peter Curtis reeled in second in the 3-meter (273.23) and third in the 1-meter (258.98).Â
Freshman Justin Tucker took home second in the 200 fly and 400 IM with times of 1:51.46 and 4:01.62. Freshman Leo Frein, senior Sean McManus and junior Alexander Reihl each earned third in the 100 back (49.96), 200 fly (1:52.78) and 50 free (20.79).
Next up, the Lafayette divers will head to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County for the Retriever Diving Invite on Dec. 6 at 1 p.m.
