EASTON, Pa. - Kente Edwards parlayed his performance against Holy Cross into Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week laurels. The honor marks the fourth time this season that Edwards has been tabbed for the award.
The Economics major ran a career-high 28 times against the Crusaders, picking up 146 yards on the ground for two touchdowns in a 21-13 win. With his 11th and 12th touchdowns of the campaign, Edwards moved into 12th all-time for single season rushing touchdowns.
Saturday's win over Holy Cross was the fourth time this season that the Annandale, N.J. native rushed for 100-plus yards, previously doing so against Stonehill (12-127, 3 TD), Georgetown (19-255, 4 TD) and Columbia (25-150, 3 TD) when Edwards also earned weekly conference honors.
The Leopards, who are 6-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play, return to Fisher Stadium on Saturday for a 12:30 p.m. matchup against Colgate for Senior Day.
