Leopards recognized for success in the classroom

EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette's men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, it was announced on Monday.

This award honors programs that achieve the highest standards in the classroom while representing their institution in the pool.

The Leopard women posted a 3.57 GPA from 46 members of the team and the men came in with a 3.44 GPA from 26 student-athletes.

"I'm excited for both teams for making the Scholar All America list. This continues a strong tradition by both teams to making the list, the women have achieved this honor 64 of 65 semesters and the men 63 of 65 semesters," said Lafayette head coach James Dailey.

"All of our student-athletes work hard to balance their academic and athletic goals throughout the year. Last semester there were 11 members of the swimming and diving teams with a perfect 4.0. We're fortunate the Lafayette community allows us to accomplish this goal," continued Dailey. "We're looking forward to adding another semester in the spring."
