EASTON, Pa.- Lehigh used six goals apiece by Kacie Wines and Molly Snow to overtake women's lacrosse in the final minutes, 17-16, on Wednesday evening at Fisher Stadium.
Junior attacker
Kristin Igneri commanded the Leopards' offensive unit with four goals and two assists for six points. Senior
Sara Rogers ranked slightly behind her with five points.
Lafayette struck first at 12:35 in the first quarter, but was quickly halted by Lehigh's 3-0 run to the 10-minute mark, trailing 3-1. The Maroon and White fought back with tallies by
Haleigh Albrecht,
Sadie Martiesian and Rogers to earn a 4-4 tie at the initial break.
The Mountain Hawks outscored the hosts 6-3 in the second period using six different goal scorers. Igneri, Albrecht and Rogers kept Lafayette within reach heading into the locker room for halftime, 10-7.
Both programs netted four goals in the third quarter, keeping Lehigh out front, 14-11.
The opponents opened the final period with three goals in five minutes, extending the advantage to 17-12.
Lafayette began a four-goal run thereafter to get within one point by 2:36, 17-16, thanks to Igneri driving through the center of the arc.
Emma Elmen (5:48),
Olivia Hover (3:57) and Albrecht (3:31) each aided the Leopards to score off Martiesian's draw controls to initiate the comeback attempt.
Lehigh took charge of the final possession and ran out the clock for the 2025 Rivalry win.
Lafayette held the advantage in ground balls (17-9) and shots (33-30), despite Lehigh earning more draw controls (23-13). The Leopards found success in 17-of-18 clear attempts compared to the Mountain Hawks' 12-of-14.
Senior goalkeeper
Molly Terraciano made eight saves in her final appearance for the Maroon and White. Her opposing counterpart, Julia DeLitta, made nine.
The Leopards concluded the 2025 season with a 6-10 (2-7 PL) record.
