EASTON, Pa. – Twenty-four combined runs crossed the plate as Lafayette baseball defeated Bucknell, 13-11, in their season finale at a rain-soaked Kamine Stadium on Sunday.
Bucknell jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second as Brady Karp blasted a grand slam to left field. Lafayette cut the Bucknell lead to 4-2 in the bottom of the frame, as both junior
Ryan Ulisse and senior
Trevor Dutra both had RBI-groundouts.
In the third, the Bison took a 6-2 lead. Tyler Dunn stole home and John Calabrese hit an RBI-double down the left field line. In the bottom of the inning, Zarrillo blasted his 24
th career home run, to make the tally 6-4.
The Leopards knotted the score, 6-6, in the fourth as sophomore

Ethan Swidler on an infield single and Zarrillo hit a sacrifice fly to left field.
Calabrese connected for his second RBI-double of the game, giving the Bison the lead back, 7-6, in the fifth. In the bottom of the frame, freshman
Alex Barrist ripped a three-run home run to left field, which put the Leopards back ahead, 9-7.
Bucknell tied the game up in the sixth on a home run by Billy Kender and a bases-loaded walk. Lafayette responded in the bottom of the inning, taking the lead again on an RBI-triple by Ulisse that scored senior
Kaleb Willis, to make the score 10-9.
In the seventh, the Leopards added three insurance runs. Zarrillo laced a two-run single to right field and Willis drove in another run on a fielder's choice, to make the tally 13-9.
The Bison scored another two runs in the ninth on a Lafayette error, making the final score 13-11.
Sophomore
Jeremiah Holder earned the win, working 3.2 innings, surrendering four hits, two runs and striking out five. Samuel Janik took the loss for Bucknell, giving up three runs on three hits and recording a strikeout.
The Leopards conclude their 2025 campaign with a 14-35 record and a 9-16 mark in the Patriot League.
