EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette placed 283 student-athletes on the Patriot League's 2024-25 Winter-Spring Academic Honor Roll, which was announced on Thursday.
The Leopards posted 165 fall semester honorees (second most in the PL) and recorded a conference second-best 448 total student-athletes on the yearly academic listing.
To be eligible for the winter-spring academic laurel, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20-grade point average (GPA) or better during the spring semester in which their league champion is crowned. The 15 sports included are baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track & field, women's rowing and softball.
Bucknell paced the Patriot League with 341 student-athletes this semester and its 539 total. Lafayette (448) took second place ahead of rival Lehigh with 446 recipients, followed by Colgate (445) and Holy Cross (425). Boston University took fifth place at 395 while Navy (346), Loyola (345), American (253) and Army West Point (200) rounded out the League's 10 full-member institutions.
Associate members Georgetown (81), Fordham (64) and MIT (36) contributed to the league's 4,023 honorees during the 2024-25 academic year.Â
Women's track and field led the way within College Hill at 50 selections, followed by women's lacrosse (37), women's swimming and diving (37), men's lacrosse (31), men's track and field (29) and baseball (26). Men's swimming and diving claimed 19 honorees, with softball (14), women's basketball (11), men's tennis (8) and women's tennis (8) following suit. Men's basketball (7) and men's golf (7) finalized the Leopards' total.
Women's lacrosse was the sole Leopard team to lead their Patriot League foes.
Additionally, 270 Leopards were named to Lafayette's Dean's List, requiring a 3.6 GPA, and 88 student-athletes recorded 4.0 GPAs. Lafayette student-athletes averaged a 3.40 GPA during the spring semester.
