WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army handed Lafayette a conference loss on Saturday, securing a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-19) final.

Carol Ulichney's service ace capped off a 7-4 early lead over the Black Knights in the first set. Immediately after, the hosts swung momentum back in their favor with a four-point spurt. Kills from Kennedy Jones and Juliette Myrick helped re-take an 8-7 advantage. The two teams traded points until the score sat at 20-15 in favor of Army. A trio of Black Knight attack errors pulled the Maroon and White within two (20-18). Towards the conclusion of the set, a trio of kills from Michelle Parker, Mackenzie Lynch and Chloe Murakami solidified the 25-20 score for set one.
Army used two separate stretches of four and five points in set two to jump to a 15-8 advantage. Two points later, Ulichney slapped down a kill to begin a run of five consecutive points. Mbeche-Odhiambo tallied one of her nine kills in the match to cut into the deficit (16-14). The Maroon and White kept the score close, making it 20-17 with another kill courtesy of Mbeche-Odhiambo. The Black Knight offense pushed the set out of Lafayette's grasp down the stretch, using a three-point run to capture a 25-18 second set win.
After 20 points in the third set, Lafayette capitalized on
Jada Aksu kill for a 11-9 lead over the hosts. Army responded with a rally of four points, gaining a 13-11 lead. The Leopards tied up the set up at 14-14 before the Black Knights followed up with a stretch of six straight points. Three kills from Murakami cemented the 25-19 set three score. In the third set,
Ally Feczko recorded three kills, while Lafayette notched three of its eight kills for the set.
The Leopards return home to Kirby Sports Center on Friday, hosting Loyola for a 7 p.m. Patriot League matchup.
