EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette's men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned Scholar All-America honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, it was announced on Tuesday.
CSCAA acknowledges programs that achieve the highest standards in the classroom while representing their institution in the pool. In order to be eligible, teams must have a 3.0 or better grade-point average (GPA) for the fall semester.
The Leopard women came in with a 3.55 GPA from 52 student athletes and the men posted a 3.19 from 30 members of the team.
"We are very excited to continue a very strong academic tradition of excellence making the CSCAA All-Academic Team list. I'm very proud of all our student athletes for balancing academics, athletics and self awareness as well as they do," said Lafayette head coach James Dailey.
"There's a lot of behind-the-scenes things that happen to ensure our success. Thank you to the coaches, professors and support staff for allowing us to achieve this recognition," Dailey continued. "We're looking forward to the challenge of continuing the streak."
