Women’s Basketball Falls in School Day Game Against Boston U.

Leopards return to the court at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday for rivalry matchup at Lehigh

EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette women's basketball fell to Boston U. in a 66-55 final on Wednesday at Kirby Sports Center. The matchup against the Terriers served as the Leopards' sixth annual School Day Game. Before tip-off, 1,300 elementary students from the Easton Area School District filled the stands to cheer on the Maroon and White. Earlier in the morning, Lafayette's men and women's lacrosse teams hosted an early-morning sports clinic that featured a variety of pre-game activities. Today's promotion wouldn't have been possible without the support of Lafayette's sponsor, Wells Fargo.

The visitors were first to strike, jumping out to a 9-0 lead to start the contest. Guards Teresa Kiewiet and Haylie Adamski battled back with three-pointers to make it 11-6 at the 4:23 mark. The Maroon and White trailed 15-10 with less than three minutes to go, but a bucket from freshman point guard Haley Poser brought Lafayette within three points (15-12) as the first quarter concluded.

Boston U. found its momentum again with an 8-0 run to get the second period rolling. Leopard guard Teresa Kiewiet (2) and forward Maddison Krug (4) got Lafayette back on track with a 6-0 stint to make it a five-point deficit (23-18). Krug finished the outing with a career-high 11 points and 14 rebounds to secure her first double-double in Maroon and White. The Terriers outscored Lafayette 8-3 in the final four minutes of the half to take a 33-21 advantage.

During halftime, Lafayette Athletics honored five EASD sixth grade students as its 2026 P.A.R.D.S. award winners. P.A.R.D.S. stands for Passionate, Accountable, Resilient, Driven and Selfless. These are the five core characteristics of a Lafayette College student-athlete and Wednesday's winners have shown their ability to embrace these characteristics daily. Additionally, one teacher from each of the eight EASD buildings was honored for embracing P.A.R.D.S. The 2026 student winners were Ashley Tejada, Marcus Crawford, Bryce Miller, Aubrey Hargreaves and Jace Lohmann. The teachers recognized were Nicholas Thornton, Carmella Mattes, Stacey Campbell, Tara Wheeler, Chris Wimmer, Jessica Ferry, Curt Adams and Melissa Breiner. Leopard superfan Xiomara gifted the team customized friendship bracelets that she made herself.

Adamski buried a triple to open the second half (8:52), but Boston U.'s paint presence continued to be an issue for Lafayette. Having been previously trailing by 15 points (45-30) guards Sauda Ntaconayigize and Poser hit back-to-back shots that brought the Leopards within striking distance (45-35). The visitors put together an 8-0 run to close the third quarter, leading 53-35.

Despite Lafayette outscoring Boston U. 20-13 in the final quarter, the previous deficit was too much to overcome. At the final horn, the Terriers walked away with their second-straight conference victory and the Maroon and White dropped to 7-11 on the year.

Rebounding and points in the paint told the story of Wednesday's game. The visitors secured 10 more boards than Lafayette (42-32), while putting up 20 more points in the paint than the Leopards (42-22).
