Lafayette Collects Two-Win Weekend

Field hockey defeats Delaware in second shootout contest of 2026

EASTON, Pa.- The Lafayette field hockey team defeated Delaware, 1-0, in shootouts on Sunday afternoon at Rappolt Field. The Maroon and White improved to 11-2 (4-0 PL) and remain undefeated at home (6-0).

Neither squad found the net through sixty minutes of regulation during the stormy outing.

The Leopards took three shots and held the opponents without an attempt on net in the extra 15 minutes of overtime play.

Senior Stella Malinowski took the first shootout for Lafayette and was halted by the Delaware goalkeeper. The Blue Hens secured their first point through Katie Clarke. The Leopards made every attempt thereafter with success by Lena Thedrian, Lea Good and Rosalie van Gool.

Lafayette's sophomore goalkeeper Campbell Lemmink stopped all three alternating Blue Hen advances by Kate Fiest, Livia van't Hek and Ella Cellini for the victory. She has two shootout wins under her career belt, including the 1-0 final on Oct. 2 over American.

Overall, Delaware held the advantage in total shots (10-6) and penalty corners (5-2). Both teams managed two shots on goal.

Lafayette's junior goalkeeper Addison Kahn made two saves during regulation and overtime. Her Blue Hen counterpart, Jane Baldy, matched her and was selected to remain in goal for the 1v1's.

Following the contest, Lafayette celebrated the careers of the eight-member Class of 2027 (Emma Maher, Stella Malinowski, Maddie Evans, Ines Araujo, Lea Good, Katie Gibb, Naomi George and Lena Thedrian) for Senior Day in Kamine Varsity House.

The Leopards host Lehigh for the Rivalry on Friday at 6 p.m.
