Lafayette Continues Strong Performances on Day Three of Championships

Leopards secure one school record and 10 all-time finishes

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Swimming and diving finished day three of the four-day Patriot League Championships at Navy's Lejeune Hall on Friday with the men in eighth and the women in 10th. The Leopards broke one Lafayette school record and added 10 new performances to the All-Time Top 10.

Freshman Trevor Olson captured the school record in the 200-yard freestyle, first in prelims with a time of 1:37.24 and then again in finals with a time of 1:36.61, placing fifth overall.

Junior Alexander Reihl earned 13th in the 100-yard breaststroke (54.90) and freshman Gregory Yukhvid collected 20th in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 49.40, missing the school record by 0.03 seconds. Freshman Justin Tucker placed 23rd in the 400-yard IM, touching at 4:01.75.

The team of Reihl, freshmen Augustus Sefcik and Charlie Moon and senior Tommy Weber snagged seventh in the 200 free relay with a final time of 1:21.05, tying the school record set in 2025. Reihl's 50 free split time also tied the school record, the record he set on day two of the championships (20.11).

Junior diver Landon Orth took home 13th in the 1-meter dive with a score of 272.15. while junior Trey Telleen and senior Peter Curtis managed 16th (252.70) and 18th (255.70), respectively.

For the women, senior Isabella Van Ess touched the wall in 16th in the 100 breast with a final time of 1:05.37, missing her own school record by 0.05 seconds. Junior Abigail Bebel reeled in 18th in the 400 IM (4:30.47) and freshman Kristina Fleck followed close behind in 21st (4:31.67). Sophomore Meghan Robinson collected 24th in the 400 IM (4:37.03).

The team of juniors Diedre McKenna Scudder and Sarah Newman, sophomore Sara Fente-Damers and freshman Luca Pirone ended ninth in the 200 free relay, finishing with a time of 1:36.33.

"We swam very well in the morning with one school record, 11 swimmers and divers in finals and 10 new all time top 10 performances. The meet is incredibly fast with the new NCAA automatic qualifying rules. What was 16th place last year is 25th place this year," said Lafayette head coach James Dailey.

"We entered the final session expecting some big performances and everyone delivered. Trevor Olson reset his 200 free school record. In my years coaching at Lafayette, we have never tied a school record and tonight we tied two," Dailey said.

The Maroon and White will compete in the fourth and final day of the Patriot League Championships on Saturday at 10 a.m.
