WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Isabelle Pohmer powered Lafayette women's lacrosse to a 10-7 win over Monmouth on Sunday afternoon in Kessler Stadium.
Pohmer, a sophomore midfielder, contributed a career-high five goals, three draw controls and caused one turnover. The Hawks were paced by Shea Berigan's three goals and one ground ball.
Monmouth posted a 4-0 lead in the first period using four different scorers.
Lafayette came out swinging in the second quarter, outscoring the Hawks 6-1 to manage a 6-5 lead at the halftime break. Pohmer led the advance with three goals as the Leopards had five unanswered tallies.
The Leopards remained on the offensive, taking a 10-6 advantage in the third period.

Sadie Martiesian (10:53) and Pohmer (8:29, 7:23) crafted the 4-1 run.
Monmouth's Berigan was credited with the single tally in the final stanza at 14:06.
The Maroon and White held the advantage in draw controls (10-8), ground balls (17-14), shots (38-21) and clears (19-of-20 to 18-of-21).

Kennedy Carr made eight saves, while her Hawk counterpart, Katie Sullivan, made 16.
Next up, the Leopards open Patriot League play against Holy Cross on Saturday. Opening draw is slated for 4 p.m. and the game will serve as Lafayette's Community Day.
