WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Sophomore Reed Theiss jumped eight spots on the final day of the William and Mary Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate to land in ninth place. Theiss carded rounds of 70, 73 and 71 for a one-over-par 214. The Loudon, Va. native tallied 13 birdies over three rounds at the par-71, 6,817-yard Golden Horseshoe Golf Club for his first finish within the top 10 and third within the top 25.
Lafayette concluded its first invitational of the spring in seventh in a field of 12 teams. The Leopards shot a 32-over-par 884 and were 10 strokes out of the top 10.
Following Theiss' lead was Winston Kelenc-Blank (+9), who moved up one spot to a tie for 33rd. Senior Harry Dessel (74-71-79) landed in 38th, while Travis Robertson (t-43) turned in a final-round 75 to card 226. Viktor Kofod-Olsen shot rounds of 77, 80 and 77 to rest in 65th.
Six Leopards represented Lafayette as individual golfers. Freshman Liam Brandt paved the way with a 13-over-par 226, joining Robertson in 43rd. Michael DiNapoli (228) finished the two-day event in 51st. Freshman Chris Vahey moved up eight spots to 74th, using a final round 75 to shoot 237. Pace (240) was three strokes behind Vahey, landing in 77th. Harrison Browne (84-73-87) and Valdemar Kofod-Olsen (80-85-79) tied for 81st.
William & Mary garnered team honors after a two-under-par 850. Navy's Jack Tarzy captured medalist laurels after a five-under-par 208 to lead  the 85-player field.
The Maroon and White travel to the Columbia Spring Invitational on Monday for their next competition.
