KINGSTON, N.Y. - Senior
Harry Dessel powered his way to second place on Saturday at the Roar-EE Invitational, hosted by Columbia. He fired off rounds of 67 and 70 to card a seven-under-par 137. In his two rounds, Dessel collected nine birdies, five of which came in a first round when he tallied a par or better on every hole.
The Leopards (-5) were one of five teams to finish under par. The Maroon and White shot 571 to finish in fifth in the 15-team field.
Sophomore
Reed Theiss (E) landed in 20th following rounds of 73 and 71 at the par-72, 6,790-yard Wyltwyck Golf Club. Classmate
Travis Robertson (72-73) finished with a one-over-par 145 to rest in a tie for 24th. Freshman
Viktor Kofod-Olsen wrapped up the invitational in 35th following rounds of 72 and 74 for a two-over-par 146.
Winston Kelenc-Blank (148) placed t-52.
Michael DiNapoli represented the Leopards as an individual, shooting six-over-par 150 for 63rd.
Fairfield captured first place after shooting a 15-under-par 561. The Stags' Rasmus Ditzinger took home medalist honors with an 11-under-par 133.
Lafayette retakes the course at the Patriot League Championship on April 24, hosted by Army.
