O'Brien Welcomed as Head Coach of Women's Basketball

Lafayette community was introduced to the new leader

EASTON, Pa. - Ben O'Brien was formally introduced as the head coach of Lafayette women's basketball on Monday.

Following a photo shoot at Kirby Sports Center, Lafayette athletics held a press conference in Pfenning Alumni Center to officially announce the new hiring.

President Nicole Hurd started things off with a few words, with Director of Athletics Sherryta Freeman detailing what made O'Brien the right choice to guide the Maroon and White.

"I do not take this responsibility lightly," O'Brien said. "I'm excited to get to work, build meaningful relationships within this community and represent Lafayette in a way that reflects the high standards and traditions of this great college."

O'Brien was joined by his family, including his wife, Mandy, and his two children, Livvy and Ben. Watch the press conference here.
