EASTON, Pa. – Seniors Carson Persing and Sean Wilson each secured a place on the 2026 Preseason All-Patriot League Football Team announced on Wednesday night.
The two, who make up half of the team's captain corps, will play integral roles in the Leopards' offense in 2026.
Persing is part of a deep receiving group and led Lafayette in receptions (60), receiving yards (724) and touchdowns (4) in 2025. The Economics major from Danville, Pa. has played in 36 career games with 23 starts in his time at Lafayette.
Wilson, too, boasts significant time in the starting lineup, and the Easton, Pa. native will serve as a starter at left tackle for the second-straight season. He has played in 26 games over three seasons and was part of an offensive line which paved the way for a 1,000-yard rusher for three consecutive seasons.
The Leopards, who reported for training camp on Tuesday, are coming off an 8-4 campaign in 2025 when they finished in second place in the conference standings. They were tabbed for fifth in the 2026 preseason poll behind Villanova, Lehigh, Richmond and William & Mary and ahead of Holy Cross, Fordham, Georgetown and Bucknell.
Lafayette opens 2026 at Georgetown on Aug. 27 before traveling to Connecticut in week two. The Leopards' five-game home slate begins with Marist on Sept. 12.
