EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette's Lea Good, Katie Gibb, Mia Freeman and Lena Thedrian were chosen as field hockey's 2026 team captains on Thursday afternoon.

Claiming one Patriot League Player of the Week laurel last season, Good held her own on the forward line with 16 points, four goals and eight assists.

Gibb propelled the squad last fall with a team-high 21 points on five goals and 11 assists. She scored the game-winners versus Colgate and at Boston U. while starting in all 19 games.

Freeman, the only junior captain, competed in every match in 2025 while making seven starts. She contributed five points through two goals and one assist.

The conference office named Thedrian as the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year on Aug. 20. The Hamburg, Germany native previously competed and started in 16 games, totaling 21 points on eight goals and five assists. She scored two game-winning goals against Holy Cross and at Delaware while tallying three defensive saves. Her impressive resume lists accolades such as NFHCA DI Second Team All-Mideast Region, First Team All-League and Academic All-League in 2025.

The Leopards open the 2026 schedule with a road trip to Evanston, Ill., playing against Kent State and Northwestern on Aug. 28 and 30, respectively.
