EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette used a pair of second-quarter goals to knock off Cornell, 2-1, on Monday evening.
Laila Pasic opened scoring for the Leopards at 18:15, assisted by
Maddie Evans.
Lena Thedrian scored the second goal of the night in the next three minutes during a penalty corner.
Emma Maher and
Katie Gibb assisted her at stick-stop and insert, respectively.
Uma Kading recorded Cornell's goal at 55:17 in the final period.
Cornell held the advantage in total shots (11-10) while the Leopards tallied more penalty corners (6-3).
Lafayette's junior goalkeeper
Addison Kahn made five saves in the win. She also halted two penalty stroke attempts by the opponents at 19:07 and 40:18. Chloe West took both tries at the dot for Cornell. Kahn's Big Red counterpart, Martha Broderick, made four saves in her 58 minutes of play.
The Leopards host Rider on Friday at 6 p.m.
