2014: Played in nine games with eight starts...made 17 tackles, two for loss...managed three fumble recoveries while also forcing a fumble...recorded a season-high five tackles at Colgate (11/8).

2013: All-Patriot League Second-Team selection at defensive tackle...appeared in all 12 games, drawing nine starts...made 34 tackles with four and half sacks on the season...forced two fumbles…had a season-high six stops against Sacred Heart (9/7) and at Holy Cross (10/26).

2012: Did not see any game action…named Scout Team Defensive Player of the Year.

AT NORTH FORT MYERS: National Honor Society member who maintained a 3.93 GPA...played linebacker, tackle, center and fullback...earned Lee County Athletic Conference and All-Southwest District honors as a junior and senior...named team Defensive MVP his final two seasons and team MVP in 2011...played in 2011 North-South game and was the game’s MVP...made 83 tackles, with 12 sacks and 22 quarterback hurries as a senior...also managed eight yards per carry on the ground...three-year letterwinner in basketball while collecting Lee County Athletic Conference honors and serving as team captain...averaged 13.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game...wrestled for one season with a 9-4 record.

PERSONAL: Son of Robert and Marianela Mercado...went to same high school as Deion Sanders and Noel Devine...has an older brother, Richard, and an older sister, Kathy...born 11/16/93.
