2023: One of three national finalists for the Buck Buchanan Award, which is given to the defensive player of the year in the FCS...received Stats Perform All-American First-Team laurels…earned Associated Press All-America Second-Team Defense status…named to the All-Patriot League First-Team…named the team Defensive MVP following the season...
started all 12 games at outside linebacker…led the team with 83 tackles for a Patriot League-best 21.5 TFL…rang up a Patriot League-leading 10 sacks (0.83 per game) and ended the season tied for 10th in the nation…it was the most sacks for a Leopard since 2000 and the second-most ever in a season at Lafayette…led the Patriot League and was third in the nation with five forced fumbles…tallied eight quarterback hurries and five pass breakups…was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks for his performances against Bucknell (9/30) when he had nine tackles and 3.5 sacks and at Princeton (10/7) when he tallied 10 tackles and two sacks.

2022: Started four games at outside linebacker and long snapper, missing seven in the middle of the season due to injury...finished the season with 22 tackles, two fumble recoveries (tied for 14th in the nation) and an interception...guided a defense that ranked eighth in the nation and first in the Patriot League for rushing defense (106.7)...made a season-high eight tackles in a rivalry win over Lehigh (11/19), adding a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown and a fumble recovery...his play vs. Lehigh garnered him Lafayette-Lehigh game MVP recognition (the first defensive MVP since 2010) and Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honors.

2021 Fall: Started the first eight games of the season before suffering a season-ending injury at Georgetown (10/30)...finished season with 56 tackles, including 6.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and two interceptions...managed two or more tackles in every game and four or more tackles in seven of eight contests...opened season with nine stops at Air Force (9/4)...made eight tackles with a sack vs. New Hampshire (9/18)...picked off two passes and made eight tackles in the 24-14 win over Penn (9/25)...rang up eight tackles with two tackles for loss at Harvard (10/16).

2021 Spring: Named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team on special teams...made six tackles in the Colgate (3/13) game before suffering a season-ending injury.

2019: Moved to linebacker where he started 11 of the 12 games in which he played...named to the All-Patriot League Second Team...tabbed as the team's most-improved player...finished third on the team in tackles (66), including six tackles for loss...forced three fumbles (tied for first in the Patriot League with teammate Marco Olivas) and recovered another...had four our more tackles in nine games...made a career-high 11 tackles at Georgetown (10/19)...forced a fumble that led to a touchdowns in win over Fordham (11/2) and Lehigh (11/23).

2018: Played in every game as a rookie, seeing time on special teams and as part of the defensive line rotation...finished the season with eight tackles, an interception vs. Lehigh (11/17) and forced fumbles vs. Central Connecticut State (9/29) and Fordham (10/27). 

AT ARCHBISHOP WOOD: Two-time All-Catholic League selection who played defensive end and tight end...played for two state championship teams...earned Intelligencer All-Bucks-Mont honors...honor roll student...worked as a youth football camp counselor...played in the Big 33 game in June 2018 along with former Lafayette teammate Casey McCollum '21.

Personal: Son of William and Danika Shaeffer...has seven younger brothers: Patrick, Daniel, Luke, James, Matthew, Joe and Thomas and a younger sister, Catelyn...born 9/1/99.
