Biography

2024: Appeared in 19 games with 11 starts, finishing with a 2-10 record and a 6.69 ERA in 67 innings…struck out 26 and walked 47…collected first win in a 4-2 decision against Buffalo (2/17)...registered second win in a 5-3 against Fairfield (3/16)...one of 18 Leopards named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, posting a 3.67 GPA.

2023: Appeared in 23 games with a team-best 15 starts…closed the season with a 1-13 record over 88 innings…struck out 38 batters while walking 44…captured a 4-2 circle victory after throwing 6.1 innings of five-hit softball at Mount St. Mary’s (3/18)…struck out five over 6.2 innings vs. Lehigh (3/24)…turned in a strong performance in the series opener at Army (3/31), allowing two runs on four hits with four K’s…collected second career save after tossing two innings of scoreless relief at Army in a 5-4 final (4/2)…Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection who achieved a 3.5 semester GPA.

2022: Appeared in 22 games in the circle with 12 starts with a 2-4 record and a team leading 3.56 ERA in 61 innings pitched...struck out 31 and walked 32…struck out a season-high five batters at Marist (5/4)…threw 3.2 innings of two-hit ball in an 8-1 win vs. Colgate (4/9).

2021: Made 13 appearances in the circle with a 1-9 mark and a 9.57 ERA...threw a team-leading 56.1 innings, striking out 28 while walking 26...turned in the best outing of the season at Colgate (4/9) when she limited the Raiders to four hits in a 2-0 victory...struck out a season-high four batters at Bucknell (3/29).

High School: All-Pioneer League Second-Team selection and the team's offensive player of the year in 2019...cranked out a .383 batting average with two home runs in 2018, helping to guide her North Torrance team to a second straight Pioneer League title...played with USA Athletics 18U Gold with Mike and Rose Rodgers in Long Beach, Calif., finishing as the runner up in the platinum division in 2018...honor roll student and National Honor Society member...involved in various community service events and also participated in girl scouts.

Personal: Daughter of Paul and Sharon Sawai...has a younger brother, Karson...uncle, Robert Sawai, played football at San Francisco State...born May 8, 2002.
