Ricci comes to College Hill after spending two years as the Graduate Assistant Coach for George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
While working as the Graduate Assistant for Mason, he was involved with the pitching staff, coordinating their strength and conditioning, and aiding in their development on the mound. He also assisted in recruiting and served as a liaison with academic support. During his time at Mason, two pitchers went to play professional baseball – Jared Dicsare with the Toronto Blue Jays organization and Brian Macroni with the Philadelphia, Phillies organization.
Ricci pitched at George Mason from 2015-2018, where over the course of his junior and senior seasons, he had a combined 2.55 ERA out of the bullpen and was a member of the 2018 that played in the A10 Conference Championship game. He is third in Mason’s program history for single season appearances (26 during the 2018 season), first for single season fewest walks per nine innings (0.79 in 2018), tied for second single season strikeout to walk ratio (9.67 in 2018) and third for career appearances (70).
While a student at George Mason he interned with George Mason Strength and Conditioning, gaining experience working with baseball, basketball, golf, lacrosse and soccer.
He signed with the Arizonia Diamondbacks and played one season in the organization. He also spent time with the Hillsboro Hops in the Northwest League.Â
Ricci graduated from George Mason with a degree in Kinesiology in 2018 and also received his Master’s in Sports Management from George Mason. He holds a CSC certification.Â
