2011: Started all 11 games at defensive tackle, earning his second varsity letter...achieved All-Patriot League Second-Team status while being named the team[apos]s Defensive Line MVP...recorded 42 tackles, with six for loss...managed three sacks and a forced fumble...rang up eight tackles against Colgate (11/5)...registered 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble against Fordham (10/22).
2010: Played in 11 games and started five of the last six games at defensive end to earn his first varsity letter...recorded 11 tackles (one for loss) with one pass break-up on the season...made a season-high four tackles in win over Stony Brook.
2009: Did not see any varsity game action.
AT OCEAN TOWNSHIP: Member of National Honor Society and a Spartan Scholar...earned three varsity letters in football...versatile athlete who played on offensive and defensive lines, and at tight end and linebacker...accounted for 70 tackles and 6.5 sacks as a senior...was a Liberty Division, Monmouth County and All-Shore First Team selection...earned All-State Group 3 honors...was the 2008 Liberty Division Defensive Player of the Year and received the Lombardi Award as top lineman...also participated in wrestling and track and field at Ocean Township...went 33-5 in senior wrestling campaign when he was a district champion and finished fourth in the region...competed in shot put and discus and earned First-Team Monmouth County honors as a junior.
PERSONAL: Son of Richard and Susan Lyster...sister, Carly, was the captain of the 2011 Wagner College women[apos]s lacrosse team...brother, Tyler, is a wrestler at Bucknell...youngest brother, Thomas, plays football, wrestling and track at Ocean Township High School...born 12/19/90.
