2017: Missed entire season for medical reasons.

2016: Missed season while away from school on medical leave.

2015: Took over the starting role at center...started nine of the team's 11 games, missing the Holy Cross and Bucknell contests with an ankle injury.

AT XAVIER: Earned All-State First-Team laurels from the Connecticut High School Coaches Association, Hartford Courant and New Haven Register...named to the Walter Camp and USA Today All-Connecticut Teams...All-Southern Connecticut Conference First-Team selection and Scholar-Athlete Award winner...played center, offensive tackle and long snapper during high school career...helped guide his squad to a 9-3 record in 2014 and a Connecticut State LL-S championship...long snapper on a 12-1 team that collected the LL title in 2012...overall, he was 28-7 as a varsity player...wrestled and played baseball for one season each...member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Science Honor Society...served as a volunteer camp counselor at the YMCA.

PERSONAL: Son of James and Katherine Kern...father played football at Connecticut...born 10/24/97.
