Lafayette College Athletics

2024: Named an All-Patriot League Second-Team honoree…named a team captain before the season began...was selected to the Academic All-Patriot League Team…started all 13 games at attack…tallied 28 goals and five assists for 33 points…he reached the 100-career points milestone with a hat trick against Le Moyne (4/19)…named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week (2/26) for his performances against Binghamton (2/24) and Drexel (2/20)...one of 38 members selected to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2023: A mainstay in the Leopards’ midfield, he started and played in 12 games…scored 18 goals, including four in the 16-14 loss to Drexel on 2/21…contributed four assists and picked up five ground balls.

2022: Registered a breakout sophomore year, starting all 15 games and tying for second on the unit with 28 goals... had a four-goal game against Loyola... had 12 ground balls and caused three turnovers... dished out six assists. 

2021: Appeared in all 11 games, making eight starts as a freshman... scored 12 goals to rank third on the team... had an assist and seven ground balls on the season... had three-straight two-goal performances against Fairfield, Loyola and Drexel... also netted two tallies against Navy... helped Lafayette lead the Patriot League as 1-of-44 selections to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

At Ridgefield: Played three years of lacrosse at attack and midfield, scoring more than 100 goals…won a 2018 state championship and was named All-FCIAC West…served as a team captain his senior year…earned honor roll and high honor roll throughout his career, including selection to the National Honors Society…worked with the LionsHeart Organization as the President, Vice President, Secretary and Historian…played on the club circuit with Long Island Express North, the Inside Lacrosse July Invitational champions.

Personal: Son of Kathleen and Richard Mathes…has two older brothers, Richard and Andrew.
