Biography
2024: Named a team captain for the fourth consecutive year...played in 12 games, making 11 starts at defense…finished the season with six caused turnovers and 15 ground balls…scored a goal against Hampton (2/17) in his first game back after a season-ending injury in 2023...one of 38 members selected to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2023: Named a team captain for the third time…Second Team All-Patriot League honoree as a mainstay on the Leopards’ defense…played in 14 games, making 23 starts…picked up 28 ground balls and had eight caused turnovers.
2022: Named a team captain for the second time... played in all 15 games, tying for the team lead with 14 caused turnovers... led the defensemen with 46 ground balls on the season... earned the first Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season after causing two turnovers and grabbing five ground balls at No. 20 Penn State... caused a season-high three turnovers with seven ground balls vs. No. 12 Army.Â
2021: Selected as team captain... appeared in all 11 games, making two starts... netted a goal while collecting 31 ground balls. tied for second on the team with 10 caused turnovers... scored his goal against rival Lehigh... had five ground ball on four occasions.
2020:Â Played all six games in a season cut short by COVID-19...scooped up 12 ground balls, eight of which came in two games against No. 9 North Carolina (2/15) and No. 15 Army (3/7)...also saw time at the faceoff X, getting 14 opportunities...one of 36 Leopards selected to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, posting a 3.85 GPA.
At Malvern Prep: Played four years of lacrosse at midfield and has recorded 72 ground balls, six goals, six assists and 25 caused turnovers in his career…his team won the Inter-Academic League Championship during his junior and senior years…was named a team captain his senior year, when he was selected for the All-Inter-Academic League team, the All-Mainline First Team, and the All-State team…named to the All-Mainline Second Team his junior year…had perfect attendance for all four years of high school and was selected for the high honor roll every semester…selected to play in the Under Armour Top 44 Uncommitted Game as a midfielder…son of Kristen and Scott Rushton, who played football for Villanova…has four older siblings who have competed in collegiate athletics: Scott (Princeton University Track and Field), Matthew (Villanova University Football), Alexandra (University of North Carolina Field Hockey) and Christopher (Susquehanna University Football)…has a younger sister, Julia.
