Prior to Lafayette: Rivera was a multi-sport athlete in soccer, basketball and volleyball at Nova Classical Academy...she collected more than 1,000 digs while being named her team's Defender of the Year for four consecutive seasons...she also learned all-league honors for five straight years, having joined the varsity squad as an eighth grader...Rivera and the Knights won five league titles in a row during her tenure with the varsity team...made three straight appearances in the section finals...Rivera played for multiple clubs in the Twin Cities, starting out with M1 Volleyball as a 14-year-old before finishing her club stint with Northern Lights Volleyball...she and the Northern Lights club earned several top finishes at major tournaments, including third-place showings at the January Thaw tournament in Minneapolis, and a qualifier in Kansas City, Mo...club also earned a top-15 finish at a national tournament in Indianapolis

Personal: Daughter of Deborah Rathman and Ken Rivera...has one older sister Maya.
