Volleyball Inks Seven to Class of 2025

The incoming class hails from six different states

EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette volleyball head coach Ryan Adams announced on Thursday that the program has signed seven student-athletes to its class of 2025.

Nieoporte VB
 
Abby Nieporte will come to College Hill from Boca Raton, Florida. As a four year starter at Oxbridge Academy of the Palm Beaches as an outside hitter, she has totaled 1,020 kills, 144 aces, 694 digs and 74 blocks. She is a three-time District Runner-Up, a two-time CM Cares Champion and was part of the 2018 Regional Finals team.   
 
The outside hitter is the daughter of John Nieporte and Tracie Nieporte and has three sisters, Riley, Libby and Ellie. Her grandfather, Tom Neiporte, played golf at Ohio State, her father, John, played golf at the University of West Florida, her mother, Tracie, played volleyball at CW Post and her sisters Riley and Libby, play volleyball at Stetson University and Bucknell University, respectively.

Phoebe Glass will come to Lafayette from Boca Raton, Florida. A three-year starter for Boca Raton High School as an outside hitter, she recorded 230 kills and 155 digs during the 2019 season, helping Boca Raton reach the regional finals. In 2018 she was a member of the regional quarterfinals team and is a two-time District Champion.
 
Glass is a 2018 Palm Beach County Second Team Honorable Mention selection and a 2019 Palm Beach County All-County Second Team, a First Team Palm Beach Post Best of Preps selection, the Boca Raton Varsity Volleyball Team MVP and, was named to the AVCA Phenom Watch list. In 2020, she was named an Under Armour All-American Volleyball Athlete and is a two-time Max Prep Player of the Match selection.
 
Glass is the daughter of Gary B. Glass and Erika Glass and has three siblings, Alex, Amanda and Charlotte. Her father, Gary B., played football at Princeton.
 
zorbras vb

Natasha Zorbas will come to College Hill from The Woodlands, Texas. As a three year starter for The Woodlands High School, she has recorded over 100 blocks per season as a middle blocker. Zorbas was a 2017 6A Texas UIL Volleyball State Championship Bronze Medalist and is a three-time District and Area State Champion and 6A Academic All-District award recipient. In both 2018 and 2019, she was named to the All-District Texas 6A Team and this year, was named to the All-VYPE Texas Public Schools Preseason Team.
 
Since 2016, Zorbas has also played for the Woodlands Revolution Volleyball Club National Premier Team. With Woodlands Revolution, she is a three-time AVCA Phenom Award recipient, was named to the 2018 Prep Volleyball Soph 79 list, the 2021 Prep Volleyball Class of 2021 Watchlist and received a 2020 VYPE Texas Magazine Honorable Mention nod.
 
She is the daughter of Mark Zorbas and Lisa Zorbas, and has one older brother, Andrew.

Coming to College Hill from McLean, Virginia is Nina Kernan. Kernan is a three-year varsity starter at Langley High School as an outside hitter, right side hitter and middle. In 2018, she helped lead the Saxons to an 18-6 overall record and a second place Liberty District finish. In 2019, she accumulated 128.5 total points helping to lead the Saxons to a 16-5 overall record and a second place Liberty District finish. She was named team captain for her senior season. 
 
Kernan is the daughter of Douglas Kernan and Laura Ipsen, and has two brothers, Lucas and Logan. Her father, Doug, played soccer at Union College.

Coming to College Hill from Wilmington, North Carolina, is Carson Grace Toomer. Playing for Eugene Ashley High School, Toomer has totaled 103 aces, 687 digs, 439 receptions and 53 assists as a libero. She is a two-time MEC Conference Champion and a 2017 MEC Conference Tournament Champion. In 2019, she was named co-captain and was a Coastal Preps Media 2nd Team honoree.
 
She is the daughter of Scott Toomer and Carla Toomer and has one sister, Elizabeth Claire. Toomer also plays on the beach volleyball team at Eugene Ashley, winning the 2018 North Carolina State Championship.

Anna Penman will join the Maroon and White from Carlsbad, California. As a four year member, three year starter for Carlsbad High School, she accumulated 896 assists, 45 aces, 230 digs and 54 kills and helped lead Carlsbad to its first ever state finals appearance during the 2019-20 season. The 5-9 setter was named team captain for the 2019-2020 season as well.
 
Penman is the daughter of Richard Penman and Marta Penman and has two siblings, Maleah and Matthew. Her mother, Marla, played volleyball at the University of Alabama and Georgia Institute of Technology and her father, Richard, ran cross country and track at Point Loma Nazarene University. Her aunt, Monkia Bickert, also played collegiate volleyball, playing for Rice University.

Elizabeth Flynn will come to College Hill from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where she plays for Liberty High School and has recorded 507 kills and 412 digs as an outside hitter and defensive specialist. She is a three-time member of the Academic All-State Volleyball team and was a 2019 EPC Honorable Mention as well as a District 3rd Team selection and Defensive MVP
 
Flynn is a three-time member of the Academic All-State Volleyball Team, a 2019 EPC Honorable Mention, District 3rd-Team selection and Defensive MVP, and a two-time team captain. She was named to the 2020 AVCA Under Armor All-American Watch List as well as was an All-Conference and All-District First Team selection and named to the PIAA 4A All-State volleyball team.
 
She is the daughter of Ryan Flynn and Becky Flynn and has one sister, Lora. Her aunt, Kori Lannon, played squash at Brown University and her grandfather, Herman Rij wrestled at Albright College.
 
The Patriot League has announced plans for volleyball during the 2021 spring semester. The Leopards are set to play a 10-match, League only slate beginning on Friday, Feb. 19. Teams will play five home and five road contests during the regular season, scheduled to conclude on Sunday, March 28.
