Box Score

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette women's basketball team debuted in an exhibition game on Sunday at the Allan P. Kirby Sports Center but the Leopards fell to the Nor'Easter Storm, 78-55. Lafayette had solid contributions from it's freshman class as rookie forward Colleen Fitzpatrick (Springfield, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) finished the game with 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Sophomore center and the Leopards' leading scorer Jen Bayer (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) also contributed 12 points but was often the target of intense Storm double or triple-team defense. The Leopards got a lift off the bench from sophomore shooter Kim Costello (Pleasant Valley, N.Y./Arlington) who came in to score nine points on 3-for-4 shooting from three-point range.

The Nor'Easter Storm looked to University of California-Santa Barbara grad Erica Keinhast on offense as she finished the match with 33 points. Also finishing in double-digits for the Hartford, Conn.,-based team was Lucia Madajova with 12 points and Dina Sawicki-Vernon and Tina Gonyea with 11 points each.

Sitting out for Lafayette was sophomore forward Elizabeth Rojahn (York, Pa./Central York) who is recovering from a lower back injury. Rojahn was the team's second leading scorer last season, averaging 11.3 points per game.
