SERIES HISTORY:
This is Lafayette's third meeting with Fairfield in the program's history. The Stags currently hold a 2-0 edge over the Leopards.

THE TOURNAMENT SET-UP:
With a win over host Fairfield on Friday night, Lafayette will advance to the tournament's championship game on Saturday at 4 p.m versus the winner of the St. Francis (N.Y.)-Wisconsin Green Bay contest. If the Leopards fall to the Stags, they will play in the consolation game at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

NEXT UP:
Lafayette hosts its first two games of the season next week vs. Sacred Heart on Monday and Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday.

Game #1 - The Coaches
Leopard Head Coach Pat Fisher (East Stroudsburg '60) is the winningest coach in the history of Lafayette College basketball. She has led the program to a 288-265 mark (.521) since arriving on College Hill. She earned East Coast Conference (ECC) Coach of the Year honors three times, while leading the Leopards to conference titles in 1984-85 and 1986-87. Fisher is assisted by LaRonda Murphy (Saginaw Valley State '91), Val Davis (Kutztown '83) and Dean Dedopoulos (North Adams State '79).

Dianne Nolan (Glassboro State '73) has also been a mainstay in the Fairfield women's basketball program for the past 22 years. She has a career mark of 360-251 with the Stags and a career record of 419-308 through 26 seasons. Assisting Nolan on the sideline are John Paladino, Chris Lindwall and Chantel Williams.

St. Francis (N.Y.) and Wisonsin-GB - The Coaches
Christine Cunningham (St. Francis '95) is the new kid in the women's coaching ranks, starting out her first season at the helm of the St. Francis (N.Y.) program. Assistant coaches for the Terriers are Brenda Milano (Wagner '95) and Jaime Hoffman (Catholic '95).

Heading up the Wisconsin-Green Bay program is third-year coach Kevin Borseth (Lake Superior State '76). Borseth has posted a 40-19 record with the Phoenix and has taken the team to the NCAA Tournament in both of his seasons as the program's head coach. Dawn Plitzuweit (Michigan Tech '95) and Kris Manske (Northern Michigan '98) are the Phoenix's assistant coaches.

Game #4: Hello Again Or Nice To Meet You?
The Leopards' second contest of the Warner's Classic may be a reunion with an old opponent or a first-time meeting depending on the result of the St. Francis-Wisconsin contest. Lafayette currently holds a 1-0 all-time record vs. St. Francis (N.Y.) but has never met Wisconsin-Green Bay in the 28-year history of the program.

Rocha's Righteous Return
Lafayette has had no trouble finding a new floor general this season after the graduation of All-League guard Sara Harris in May. Christel Rocha has returned to the Lafayette lineup as the starting point guard after a hiatus from the team last season. The 1998 Patriot League Rookie of the Year, Rocha has scored in double-digits in both of the Leopards' games this season, notching a team-high 13 points against Vermont and 11 points versus Radford in the Howard Bank Classic at the University of Vermont last weekend, while being named to the event's All-Tournament team. The 5-7 Lansing, Mich., native averaged 10.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in her junior season (1998-99) and has already recorded five steals, six assists and seven boards in her 58 minutes of play this season.

Fabulous Freshmen Debut
Freshman forward Colleen Fitzpatrick proved that her team-high 12 points in Lafayette's exhibition game vs. the Nor'Easter Storm earlier this season was no fluke as she came off the bench to score 10 points against Vermont and another team-high 12 points against Radford at the Howard Bank Classic last weekend. Fitzpatrick is currently second on the team in scoring behind Rocha and leads the team in rebounding with a 6.0 per game average.

Also making a fabulous debut for Lafayette is freshman guard Megan Haughey. A Pittstown, N.J., native, Haughey started both games of her collegiate career as the two-guard for Lafayette, accumulating 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.

How Fairfield Has Fared
Fairfield seems to have picked up where it left off last season as the MAAC champions and a post-season appearance in the WNIT. The Stags are off to a 2-0 start, recording non-conference wins over Patriot Leaguer Holy Cross and Pac-10 member California last week. The team is led in scoring by Ayanna Brown, Holli Tapley and Megan Light. A 6-3 rookie center, Brown is averaging a team-high 15.5 points to go along with an 11.5 per game rebounding average. Guards Tapley and Light are also averaging in double-digits in scoring as senior Tapley is carrying a 12.5 per game average and Light boasts a 10.0 mark.

Rojahn Injury Update
Elizabeth Rojahn, Lafayette's second-leading scorer last season, did not play in the Howard Bank Classic last weekend due to a lower back injury suffered in mid-September. The 5-10 forward started all the Leopards' 29 contests last season, averaging 11.3 points and 3.9 rebounds last year as a freshman. Rojahn is currently listed as day-to-day and will not compete in the Warner's Classic.

2000-01 Captains
Samaiyah Council and Laurie Infantino have been named the captains of the 2000-01 Lafayette women's basketball team. Selected by their teammates, Council and Infantino will provide the team with leadership and experience both on and off the court this season. Council will watch over the backcourt this season as a point guard while Infantino will take charge of the frontcourt as a 5-11 junior forward.

Lafayette In Your Living Room
The Lafayette College women's basketball team will see at least 12 contests hit the television air waves this season. The Lafayette Sports Network will air games to more than 5.2 million viewers in the Lehigh Valley, central New Jersey, New York City and Boston. Locally, the telecasts will be aired on RCN TV-4 and WBPH-TV 60, and will cover the entire Lehigh Valley as well as Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Mercer and Warren counties in New Jersey.
