EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Two Leopards set new career-highs as Lafayette prevailed as the 58-48 victor of a hard-fought battle with the Tigers of Princeton Wednesday at the Allan P. Kirby Sports Center.

In recording her 13th career double-double and second of the season, sophomore Jennifer Bayer recorded a career-high 19 rebounds to go along with 10 points. Reserve guard Kim Costello set a career-high with 18 points on the night for the Leopards, including five three-pointers.

Senior point guard Christel Rocha tied a game-high 18 points as the Leopards earned their third win of the season and avenged their 73-58 loss at Princeton last season.

Princeton (0-5) jumped out to a 3-0 lead to start the contest but that would be the only lead the Tigers would have all game. Lafayette (3-4) took advantage of Princeton's 14 turnovers in the first half to go into halftime up 27-16.

The Tigers were able to cut their deficit to six points at 38-32 with 10:00 left in the second half off a three-pointer by center Maureen Lane. A field goal by freshman Megan Haughey gave Lafayette an eight point cushion but Princeton came back with another three, this time by Allison Cahill, and the Leopard advantage was cut to five at 40-35.

That would be as close as the Tigers could get, however, as Lafayette took control and led by no less than seven points as Princeton had no choice but to foul in order to stop the clock.

Lafayette was able to control the boards in the Patriot League-Ivy League matchup, outrebounding the Tigers 53-29.

Tiger forward Lee Culp finished with 14 points while Lane recorded a team-high 17 on the night.

Lafayette hits the road on Friday to take on Yale at 6 p.m. in the Leopards' second Ivy League opponent this season.
