Lafayette Suffers Patriot League Loss to Holy Cross 94-54

WORCESTER, MA - The Lafayette women's basketball team shot an impressive 56 percent from the field in the first half, but host and preseason Patriot League favorite Holy Cross shot an amazing 66 percent to gain a 27-point halftime lead. The insurmountable first half Holy Cross lead included an eight-of-13 performance from three-point range.

Leopard freshman Jen Bayer continued her dominating inside play with 14 points and 11 rebounds, her fifth double double in the last six games. Senior Katie Miller and freshman Liz Rojahn each contributed seven points in the loss.

Holy Cross had five players score in double figures as it recorded Head Coach Bill Gibbons' 300th career victory.

The Leopards fall to 3-12, 1-1 in Patriot League play, while Holy Cross improves to 11-5, 2-1 in league play.

Lafayette continues their Patriot League slate as they travel to Army on Saturday, Jan. 22, for a 1:00 p.m. start, and then return home to host arch rival Lehigh on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 5:45 p.m..
