Lafayette women's basketball has a strong
non-conference schedule to kick off the upcoming season, and will
be home of the holidays in 1999-2000.
In November, the team will play Pittsburgh and Sacred Heart on the
road as well as facing George Mason at home -all three teams are
first-time opponents for the women's program at Lafayette.
After opening the season with two exhibition games at home, the
team will play three games on the road before returning home to
open the regular season with Delaware tentatively on November 29.
The Leopards could possibly play Pennsylvania twice in the same
season, as the Quakers will be at the December Air Force
Tournament in addition to hosting Lafayette on January 12.
Loyola-Chicago and host Air Force are also possible opponents at
the tournament which means that Lafayette has the unique chance
to play three service academies in one season - as Navy and Army
are already part of the Leopards' Patriot League slate.
In late December, the Leopards will take part in the La Salle
Holiday Invitational, with host La Salle, Quinnipiac and Furman as
possible opponents in the tournament.
Lafayette will open the Patriot League season tentatively on January
16 with a doubleheader at home against Navy, and on January 18
will travel to try and avenge its 1998-99 Patriot League semi-final
loss to eventual champion Holy Cross.
The Leopards will close out the season on the road with a match-up
against Bucknell tentatively on February 27, and return home to
prepare to be the host school for the 1999-2000 Patriot League
Tournament from March 3-4 in Easton, PA.
