VILLANOVA, PA - Villanova jumped ahead early with a 5-2 lead after one quarter and never hesitated, claiming a 16-5 win in non-conference action.

Ted Blackburn (10:45) and Kevin Bromby (7:39) both scored unassisted goals in the opening quarter, but the Leopards trailed 5-2.

Villanova managed six goals to Lafayette's one in the second quarter, as only Drew Stotler could connect with the back of the net (10:57). Lafayette trailed 11-3 at halftime.

Villanova accounted for both third quarter goals and led 13-3 at the end of the session.

Matt Belson (9:57) and Kevin Angelis (8:46) each notched a goal in the fourth quarter.

Lafayette was outshot 25-17 for the game.

The Leopards (1-1) return to action on Sat., Mar. 18 vs. Hobart.
