PHILADELPHIA, PA -
Layette softball couldn't find its offense when it needed to, stranding six runners on the
basepaths, in an 8-0 loss in the first game of a doubleheader against Penn.
The Leopards found themselves in an early, 4-0 deficit after the second inning, but couldn't
bring anyone around to tighten things up. Penn scored two runs in each of the fourth and
fifth innings, ending the game after five innings of play.
Shortstop Mara Shainheit led Lafayette, going 2-for-3, while Becky Chmielowski went
1-for-3.
