Softball Wins First League Game

FORKS TOWNSHIP, PA - Lafayette won its first league game of the year, scoring six runs in the fifth and five in the sixth en route to a 11-5 conquest of the visiting Bison of Bucknell.

Pitcher Erin Hall went the distance for the Leopards, garnering her third win of the year. She gave up nine hits, and five earned runs, while walking one and striking out one.

Junior designated player Heather Morgan was instrumental in the Leopards two run-scoring innings, lofting a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning and hitting a two-RBI double in the sixth. She went 1-for-3 for the day with three RBI. First baseman Becky Chmielowski also performed well, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Lafayette improves its record to 3-8 and 1-0 in the league, while the Bison fall to 7-9 and 0-1 in Patriot League play.
