Lafayette allowed five unearned runs coming on four errors, and could scratch out just one
fifth-inning run as they dropped the first half of a doubleheader to Wagner, 5-1.
The Seahawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on the strength of just one hit and
two Leopard errors, as well as two walks. The hosts tacked on single runs in the third and
fifth innings.
Lafayette mustered one run in the top of the fifth, as Liz Lucisano
(Levittown, PA/Villa Joseph Marie) singled, advanced to second on a groundout and stole third.
She scored on Jana DeFillips (Cedar Knolls, NJ/Whippany Park) grounder that the third baseman
threw away.
Rightfielder Stacy Brewer (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) led the Leopards, going 1-for-2. Senior
Erin Hall (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) didn't allow an earned run in five complete innings,
walking three and striking out two. She drops to 3-6 on the season.
