HUNTINGTON, West Va. (www.lafayette.edu) - Following a 1-0 season-opening win on Friday over Morehead State in the opening round of the Marshall University Tournament, the Lafayette women's soccer team ran into a strong Marshall squad, losing 7-0 on Sunday at Sam Hood Field.

Marshall midfielder freshman Amanda McMahon provided all the scoring Marshall would need, scoring at the 21:33 mark and later scoring at 68:40 and in the 75th minute of play. Fellow freshman Rebekah Tenbroek netted two goals and recorded two assists on the day.

Marshall's second goal of the day came off the foot of sophomore Lindsey Jayjack. Freshman Danielle Lowther also got in on the scoring action for Marshall when she netted a goal at the 75:04 mark.

The Leopards' record is even at 1-1, while Marshall improves to 3-0.

Lafayette looks to rebound at home, when it hosts Wagner at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Metzgar Fields.
