EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Three Lehigh players scored in double digits as the Mountain Hawks handed Lafayette a 64-46 loss in the Patriot League opener for both teams at the Allan P. Kirby Sports Center on Wednesday.

Lafayette (4-10, 0-1) came out with a 2-0 lead to start the contest with its archrival but that would be the only lead the Leopards would have all night as Lehigh went on a 16-2 run and never looked back. By halftime, the Mountain Hawk advantage was up to 14 points at 37-23.

The Mountain Hawks (8-6, 1-0) were led by sophomore Anne Tierney who recorded a double-double with game highs of 12 points and 16 rebounds. Sara Hessel and Gina Zang also finished in double figures for Lehigh with 11 points apiece.

The Leopards saw only one player score in double figures on the night as sophomore Jennifer Bayer netted 11 points to go along with seven boards. Freshman Colleen Fitzpatrick recorded eight points and a career-high 11 rebounds in the loss.

Next up for Lafayette is a Patriot League matchup with Bucknell on Saturday in the first game of a women and men's double header at Kirby. Tip-off for the women's game is slated for 1:00 p.m.
