HAMILTON, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Jennifer Bayer '03 and Colleen Fitzpatrick '04 both recorded double-doubles to help Lafayette come up with a big road win over Colgate, 76-49.
Bayer scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to record her fourth double-double of the season and 15th of her career. Fitzpatrick tallied 14 points and 10 boards for her double-double, while teammate Samaiyah Council chipped in 13 points for the Leopards.
Lafayette (6-14, 2-4 Patriot League) opened with an 11-0 run to start the game and didn't look back. The Leopards built a 20-point cushion with 4:43 to go in the first half, and headed into the locker room leading 45-21.
Colleen McCaffrey led Colgate (4-16, 1-5 Patriot League) with eight points and five rebounds.
In the second half, Lafayette's lead never dipped below a 23-point margin, and the Leopards held on for their second Patriot League win this season.
Lafayette outrebounded Colgate, 51-34, and the Leopards limited the Red Raiders to 35 percent shooting from the field.
The Leopards remain on the road this weekend, traveling to arch rival Lehigh for a 4 p.m. tip-off at Stabler Arena.
