Men's Lacrosse Falls at VMI, 8-7

LEXINGTON, Va. (www.lafayette.edu) - Senior attack Brad Muston scored four goals including the game winner at 4:46 of the fourth quarter to lead VMI past Lafayette, 8-7, Saturday afternoon at the Patchin Field Complex.

The Leopards (0-1) had tied the game at 7-7 on Mike Fiorillo's unassisted goal with 5:27 left in the final period, but VMI answered 41 seconds later when Muston tallied on a unassisted goal.

The Keydets (1-2) trailed 5-2 with 4:15 left in the second quarter following consecutive goals by Lafayette senior attackman Kevin Bromby, but the Keydets rallied with four straight goals to reclaim the lead.

The Leopards twice pulled even in the fourth quarter, but the Keydets answered each time with go-ahead goals.

VMI goalkeeper Cregg Burns made eight saves on the afternoon, while Lafayette's Duncan Woodard logged six saves.

Bromby finished with three goals and an assist to lead the Leopards.

The last three meetings between the teams have been decided by a total of four goals.

The Leopards return home to host Villanova on Wed., March 14, at 3:30 p.m.
