EASTON, Pa. - Benjamin DiBattista earned the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week on Monday following his performances against Binghamton and NJIT.
The Westwood, Mass. native tallied 11 goals in two contests, eight of which came in a 19-9 victory against NJIT. The 19-goal outburst is the most the Maroon and White have scored this season and surpassed last season's high of 16 (16-9 win versus Binghamton). DiBattista's afternoon versus the Highlanders set a new career high for goals scored in a game, surpassing his previous high of three. In the home opener, a 10-9 win against Binghamton, the sophomore recorded three goals and an assist.
Through three games, DiBattista paces the conference in goals per game and ranks second in the country with 4.67.
The Leopards (2-1) return to Fisher Stadium on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., welcoming Drexel for the start of a four-game home stand.
