EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette graduate Jennifer Rothrock '97 was named to the Patriot League Softball All-Decade Team on Tuesday for her outstanding contributions to the sport as a student-athlete. Rothrock is the only Leopard on the roster of 20 past and present student-athletes who were honored by the league in celebration of the conference's 10th anniversary.

A two-time Patriot League Player of the Year and the league's 1997 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Rothrock holds Lafayette's single-season hits record with 48 in 1995 and ranks third in the same category with 40 in 1996. While playing first base for Lafayette from 1994-97, she was a two-time GTE District II Academic All-America selection as well as a GTE National Academic All-America honoree.

A native of Bethlehem, Pa., Rothrock was named the 1997 Student-Athlete of the Year by the Lafayette College Alumni Association, Lehigh Valley Chapter. She was the leading hitter in the Patriot League during her senior season, hitting .415, which placed her 30th in the NCAA Division I rankings at the time.

As a biology major who maintained a 3.45 grade-point average, Rothrock became both the single-season RBI and single-season runs leader at Lafayette, driving in 32 runs in 1996 and scoring 34 of her own in 1995. She set the single-season RBI mark in 1995 as a sophomore before breaking her own record a year later.

The All-Decade team is comprised of 20 players who where selected by a committee consisting of head coaches, institutional sports information liaisons and administrative liaisons. Those included on the All-Decade roster are:
