FAIRFAX, Va. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette wrapped up play at the Patriot Classic on Sunday with a 4-2 loss to Long Island at George Mason Stadium.

The Leopards (1-7) fell behind 3-0 in the first inning after the first three batters of the Blackbird order were responsible for five hits and three runs.

Laura Schrager went 1-for-2 with an RBI to lead the Leopards as Kelly Wise and Leigh Minarick each were 1-for-2. Freshman Amy Magos pitched six innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out three.

Sayde Marzolf was 1-for-2, Leah Sanchez went 2-for-2 with and RBI and Tiffany Colley went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double for Long Island (8-6).

Freshman pitcher Mollie Moschberger was the lone Lafayette player named to the All-Tournament team to wrap up the three-day event.

Lafayette opens up its home season with a double header on Tuesday versus St. Joseph's. Game one is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.
